Last week, a golf cart fire resulted in damage to Sandy Valley High School's football stadium turf, forcing the Cardinals to relocate last Friday's game against Garaway to Tom Benson Memorial Stadium in Canton.

Now, the team has one more regular-season game to host, against the Tuscarawas Valley Trojans, and it is still up in the air as to what the school will do in regards to its game location.

Sandy Valley athletic director Garth Evans said on Monday "We are very hopeful that our turf will be repaired this week."

"We will know more by mid-week," Evans added.

Located in Magnolia just near the Sandy Valley High School, the stadium had artificial turf installed this past spring. The move made Tuslaw the only school in the Stark County area to remain with grass for its football field.

Friday's game, in which the Cardinals (3-2) take on Tusky Valley (1-4), is currently scheduled to kick off this Friday, Oct. 7 at 7:00 p.m.
