Malvern's Hutchison, Ridgewood's Tingle head All-IVC football team
TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio - The 2020 All-Inter-Valley Conference selections have been announced, with the Malvern Hornets and Ridgewood Generals boasting both Players and Coaches of the Year in both the North and South divisions, respectively.
Malvern senior quarterback Derk Hutchison was named the best of the IVC North, one of six Hornets first-team selections, tops in their division. Their coach, Matt Chiurco, won the IVC North Coach of the Year honors for leading his squad to an undefeated 6-0 regular season and the IVC North championship.
In the South, Ridgewood junior Gabe Tingle won the POTY award, while head coach John Slusser took the COTY honors. Like Malvern, Ridgewood finished the regular season undefeated and took the IVC South title, and are currently the only IVC team to remain active in the Ohio state football playoffs.
The Generals, also like the Hornets, had six first-team selections, including seniors Zach and Bryce Prater and Javan Belt. Tingle was the only non-senior of the group named to the first-team. Both schools were tops in total selections among first and second teams (9).
