AKRON, Ohio - The 2021 OHSAA state softball tournament made it through the second inning of its first game before rain forced the Thursday game slate to be postponed to Fri., June 4, with the remaining two days of contests being shifted to Sat., June 5 and Sun. June 6.
The first game, a Division I state semifinal game between Pataskala Watkins Memorial and Whitehouse Anthony Wayne, will be resumed at 10 a.m. Friday and followed by the other D-1 semifinal at 12:30 p.m. between West Chester Lakota West and Massillon Perry.
The OHSAA announced the revised schedule for this weekend's state softball tournament (barring further postponements):
DIVISION I
Whitehouse Anthony Wayne (26-4) vs. Pataskala Watkins Memorial (32-1) - Friday, June 4, 10 a.m. [RESUMED FROM 2ND INNING]
West Chester Lakota West (30-1) vs. Massillon Perry (26-6) - Friday, June 4, 12:30 p.m.
Division I State Championship Game - Sunday, June 6, 10 a.m.
DIVISION IV
Bradford (28-2) vs. New Riegel (28-2) - Friday, June 4, 3 p.m.
Cuyahoga Heights (21-4) vs. Newark Catholic (17-13) - Friday, June 4, 5:30 p.m.
Division IV State Championship Game - Sunday, 1 p.m.
DIVISION III
Sherwood Fairview (26-1) vs. Wheelersburg (26-1) - Saturday, June 5, 10 a.m.
Johnstown (19-11) vs. Canfield South Range (29-3) - Saturday, June 5, 12:30 p.m.
Division III State Championship Game - Sunday, June 6, 4 p.m.
