MARION, Ohio - Newcomerstown senior wrestler Logan Hursey finished second in the Division III wrestling tournament's 138-pound division on Sunday at Marion Harding High School.
Hursey jumped out to a 5-0 lead over Milan Edison senior Casey Barnett, but recovered with a reversal and a two-point near fall to Hursey, making the score 5-4.
Barnett then scored a fall just before the end of the first period to finish the year at 57-1, while Hursey finished at 48-1.
Hursey placed at the state tournament for the third and final time, as he finished sixth his freshman year and fourth as a sophomore.
Sandy Valley's Blair, Moyer compete
Sandy Valley senior Cameron Blair also represented the area in Sunday's tournament, finishing third in the 195-pound division.
Blair lost his first match of the tournament but won his last four bouts, including against Mogadore junior Tyler Knight.
Sandy Valley junior Wyatt Moyer recorded a 14-4 major decision over Versailles junior Brayden Keihl in the fifth-place match at 220 pounds.
