Dover's Brennan McCune, New Philadelphia's Julia Miller headline 2021 East Central Ohio League baseball, softball selections

TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio - Dover and New Philadelphia split the baseball and softball top honors in Tuesday's released All-East Central Ohio League selections, as Tornadoes senior Brennan McCune (baseball) and Quakers junior Julia Miller (softball) were each named Player of the Year, while Dover baseball coach Jeff Fondriest and New Phila softball coach Karly Ross were named the respective Coaches of the Year.
McCune, who committed to the University of Toledo's baseball program last December, was joined by teammates Ayden Hall, Mason Stoldt (first team), Matt Dummermuth, Connor McGarry (second team), and Evan Klar (honorable mention).
New Philadelphia softball had seven total selections, including Miller, Lily Goodwin, Madison Wright (first team), Chelsea Froman, Jenna Miller, Chloe Long (second team), and Brittany Finton (honorable mention).
Both schools also earned honors in boys' tennis, as New Phila's Elliott Warner was named ECOL Player of the Year, while Dover coach Ben Bartholomew - who had seven of his players named to the conference's first team - took the Coach of the Year award.
