Ohio State game at Maryland canceled due to Terps' COVID outbreak

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State Buckeyes' road matchup with Maryland for this Saturday has been canceled due to an elevated number of COVID-19 cases within the Terrapins.

The game will not be rescheduled.

Maryland released a statement saying they have put all team activities on hold following a rise in coronavirus cases.

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day said following the announcement that he and his team "wish Maryland, their student-athletes and programs well as they battle through this issue."

The latest Big Ten game to be affected by the virus is also the third game involving an AP top-five team to be altered, as Saturday's No. 1 Alabama-LSU and No. 5 Texas A&M-Tennessee matchups were postponed yesterday due to COVID-19 spikes within the Tigers and Aggies.

The third-ranked Buckeyes (3-0) are next scheduled to play Indiana on Saturday, Nov. 21 at Ohio Stadium in Columbus.
