Tuscarawas County, Ohio (WJER) - The county prosecutor says charges will now be considered over the death of a New Philadelphia man.

The Stark County Coroner’s office has listed the cause of death for 38-year-old Nicholas L. Winters as homicide by asphyxiation or strangulation.

Winters was seriously injured in a fight along Race Street in Dover early on October 12th. He was transported from the scene to Union Hospital and then transferred to Aultman Hospital where he died later that day. The other party involved in the fight was a 43-year-old man who was questioned at the scene and released.

Tuscarawas County Prosecutor Ryan Styer says he will most likely present the matter to the grand jury once the full medical examiner’s report is complete.
