NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) - The Tuscarawas County Public Library System is looking for a new trustee to help make decisions about its future.
Library Director Michelle McMorrow-Ramsell says there’s a vacancy on the seven-member board of trustees after Joanne Limbach’s term expired.
“She started on our board in 1997, and she was an excellent board member. She had a lot of experience with governmental funding. She was very helpful but we really appreciated her while we had her, and she’s still a great advocate and supporter of the library,” she says.
Ramsell says the board consists of representatives from each community where there’s a library branch. The open seat is for someone to represent New Philadelphia.
“This particular position is one of the positions that needs to be somebody who lives within the New Philadelphia school district and has a real love and passion for the library and the work that libraries do,” she says.
Ramsell says trustees serve seven-year terms, as mandated by Ohio law. Trustees hire and evaluate administrators, review finances, approve the annual budget, and help guide the library into the future. Those interested should contact the library’s Main Branch in New Philadelphia.
