TAP taking in interns for Graphic Arts Program

TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio - The Tuscarawas Arts Partnership, or TAP, has partnered with Buckeye Career Center's Graphic Arts Program to start a new internship program for students to hone in on their graphic design skills.

The program will create real-world opportunities for students in the world of graphic design. Via a press release from TAP, B.C.C. Graphic Arts Teacher Aubrey Gealsha says the goal of the program is to give students "a hands on experience, working in the field and opening the students to the arts community."

TAP Executive Director Wilma Mullet was stated as followed:

"As we looked to grow our nonprofit organization, one of our goals was to provide internship opportunities for students to gain experience in the arts, culture, and creative industry. It just so happens the internship program at Buckeye Career Center’s Graphic Arts Program lined up with our goals, and we were happy to open the door for the opportunity with its students."

One student is Olivia Swigert, a junior at B.C.C. who joined the program and became a part of TAP's team as a Graphic Design Intern. According to TAP's release, her future education plan is to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design SCAD. Her plan is to become a professional graphic designer.
