NEW PHILADELPHIA (Tusco TV) - Historic Schoenbrunn Village officials are giving visitors a chance to experience a traditional, Moravian Christmas during two special events this weekend.

Dennison Depot Executive Director Wendy Zucal says Schoenbrunn will be hosting its Christmas in the Village event Saturday from 1 to 4 pm followed by the annual Lovefeast Sunday afternoon. Zucal says Saturday’s event will offer holiday-inspired activities and crafts and a chance to stroll among the cabins beautifully decorated for the Christmas season.

"They will have folks in the cabins, activities going on, craft-making with pine, quill-writing. There’s also a basket auction that’s fun, and the gift shop will have fun items, so it’s a nice afternoon outside and to experience the Christmas season," she says.

The Lovefeast will be held in the Schoenbrunn church Sunday starting at 2 pm. Zucal says candlelight and caroling are part of this traditional Moravian celebration.

"It’s in the church, and there will be fires lit there in the hearth so if you haven’t experienced the Lovefeast, you definitely might want to try that as a new holiday activity," she says.

Regular admission rates apply for the Christmas in the Village event while the Lovefeast is free and open to the community.
