DOVER (WJER) - The Tuscarawas Valley Farmer’s Market is once again giving people a local taste of fall with their annual holiday market back for the fourth year.

Mark McKenzie says they’re back out at Breitenbach Winery this afternoon for their 11th-season send-off event where patrons can find local cold-weather crops, their usual meat vendors as well as live entertainment and food trucks all in the same place. McKenzie says hosting the holiday market at Breitenbach Winery also comes with additional freedoms they can’t offer during the regular season… (like giving them the ability to drink the wine they buy on site)

“At the market, you can’t drink wine at the market. It can be sold at the market. Now, but because we’re at Breitenbach, we’re under their license and that. You can actually sit down with your dinner and you can buy a bottle of wine there or a glass of wine there and enjoy that with your pizza,” he says. “And that’s with entertainment. Kodachrome Babies will be playing from 5 to 6.”

McKenzie says it’s an all-in-one event that brings the entire community together one last time at the market.

“Not only does it feature the vendors at the market and the local food that we have available this time of year but it’s also giving our local art community an opportunity to connect with our community early. If you want to purchase early Christmas gifts, it’s a great opportunity to do that and then buy anything that you would need to support your Thanksgiving meal fresh,” he says.

McKenzie says they will also have a live cooking demo with Chef Claudia Diaz. The holiday market runs from 3 to 7 pm today.
