NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) - The 42ND annual First Town Days Festival gets into full swing today after kicking off on Independence Day.

This is Senior Day with senior displays and craft activities beginning at 2pm. The midway opens at 4pm followed by the annual bocce tournament at 6pm. Then, the WJER Grand Parade then steps off at 6:30pm.

“We’ll have our past queens, our current queens. Adam Calvert Country Music will be riding in that, and our parade marshals this year are our first responders, people representing the first responders,” says Festival Committee President Joe Croft.

The festival continues through the weekend with highlights including the Junior Superstars competitions and fireworks Saturday and the wiffleball tournament and talent show on Sunday. For a complete schedule of events, visit www.firsttowndays.com.
