Dover Library, Chris Hart holding virtual Christmas "History Comes to Life" program

DOVER, Ohio - Chris Hart, a well-known historian and storyteller, will portray Civil War veteran William Chilcote for a Dover Library program held via Zoom on Thursday, December 10 at 6:30 p.m.

Hart will portray Chilcote as the historical figure prepares to receive guests in his home on Christmas Eve in 1893. As he does, he pauses to reflect on how the holiday was celebrated in song, food, and fellowship during the war.

Hart has created a venture known as "History Comes to Life", in which he appears in costume to bring to life numerous historical and literary characters, ranging from Cy Young to Icabod Crane to Titanic survivor Peter Daley.
