Nationally-acclaimed reenactor Rick Williams will deliver a first-person portrayal of General George Armstrong Custer during the November 14th Tuscarawas Valley Civil Round Table meeting. (Tuscarawas Valley Civil War Round Table)

DOVER - A nationally-recognized reenactor and living historian will bring to life one of America's most enigmatic and controversial military figures during the next installment of the Tuscarawas Valley Civil War Round Table.

Rick Williams will portray General George Armstrong Custer during the group's meeting this Thursday at 7 pm in the Dover Library's Community Room. 

Williams is a veteran cavalry reenactor with more than 15 years in the saddle and has appeared on The History Channel, The Discovery Channel, The Smithsonian Channel and more. His movie credits include Gods & Generals and Real Injun. Williams has appeared as General Custer at the Custer's Last Stand Reenactment in Montana since 2007 and is the official General Custer of the Custer Memorial Association in New Rumley, Ohio. Williams is also the official Custer of the United States Army. 

The Tuscarawas Valley Civil War Round Table hosts a different speaker each month to provide an engaging and informative look at a particular aspect of Civil War history. Meetings are free to attend and open to the public. For more information, contact the Dover Public Library at 330-343-6123.
