NEW PHILADELPHIA - Charmed: Gifts with Meaning is inviting the community to a celebration of creativity and art made better with coffee.

Coffee and Canvas will take place on Thursday, Sept. 12th, from 6 to 8 pm in the gift shop in downtown New Philadelphia. 

Artist Deb Herbert of New Philadelphia will lead the class in painting a 12 x 12-inch sunflower painting. Herbert is the owner of the A World of Possibilities store that once operated in the storefront that now houses Charmed before moving to a new location. She taught art and painting for a number of years to people with disabilities and since her retirement has become a favorite instructor at area painting events.

The cost to participate in the Coffee and Canvas event is $15 per person with all materials included. Seating is limited, and pre-registration is required by calling 330-339-3199 or stopping by Charmed: Gifts with Meaning. The store is located at 117 West High Avenue in New Philadelphia.

Charmed: Gifts with Meaning is supported by the Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities. The store offers products for sale made by consignors with and without disabilities. People receiving case management services through TuscBDD pay no consignment fee and receive all proceeds from their sales. Charmed also offers an internship program to provide work experience to people with developmental disabilities. The store strives to build community by highlighting the abilities of those with developmental disabilities, raising funds for local Special Olympians, hosting special events and participating in New Philadelphia Business and Community happenings, and promoting other non-profits in Tuscarawas County.
