COSHOCTON -  Two individuals have been officially charged in relation to a traffic accident last Monday.

 

On March 17th, Fransy Espinnoza Caballero of Ruston, LA was charged with 4th Degree Felony Aggravated Vehicular Assault, and Angel Simpson, 23, of Coshocton was charged with 3rd Degree Felony Endangering Children, following a traffic accident on State Route 271 at Clow Ln.

 

Last Monday, at 10:47 a.m., the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about a small child falling from a truck and being hit by another vehicle.

 

On the scene, initial investigation showed the pickup truck was heading south on CR 271 at Clow Ln. and attempted to pull left into a driveway.  At that time, a 15-month old male was ejected from the rear passenger seat of the truck.  A vehicle following the truck was unable to avoid the child, and struck him in the south-bound lane.

 

The child was flown from the scene by MedFlight Helicopter to Akron Children’s Hospital. He is in critical condition.

 

Assisting on scene were Coshocton City Fire, Coshocton County EMS, MedFlight Helicopter and Prince’s Wrecker.

 

This incident remains under investigation by your Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
