NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio - The New Philadelphia Board of Education approved both the retirements of South East Elementary Principal Jaclyn Triplett and New Philadelphia High School teacher and coach Joe Pry this past Monday, effective following the 2020-21 school year.

Triplett, who has worked for N.P. City Schools for the past 36 years, has been an administrator for 23 between West and South Elementary Schools, as well as the former Tuscarawas Avenue Elementary.

"I am beyond grateful for my employment at New Philadelphia City Schools," Triplett told The Times-Reporter. "I will miss the administrative team, teachers, staff, and families. It has been an honor to work alongside amazing teachers and wonderful families. I am sure that the school district will continue to grow and thrive. My wish is for continued success for all involved."

Pry, meanwhile, spent over 30 years at New Philadelphia High School, both as a teacher and coach in both football and track.

"I have loved teaching and coaching at New Philadelphia. I am retiring because I have the opportunity to go watch my daughters play college sports."

Pry has two daughters, Carly (who will play volleyball at Edinboro University this fall) and Josie (who will run track at South Alabama).

Pry also says he hopes to stay involved with New Philadelphia schools in some capacity. His wife, Carla, recently retired from her duties as the school's volleyball coach but will remain an educator.
