DOVER, Ohio - The Dover Public Library will hold a March 31 virtual event hosted by travel writer and photographer Laura Watilo Blake, who will share her experiences traveling the United States during the coronavirus pandemic.
Blake is a freelance writer, photojournalist, and cinematographer who garnered the Silver Award in the 2020 SATW Muster Photo Competition Photographer of the Year. Her latest book Ohio: A Photographic Journey recommends many places in Ohio that are perfect for outings with family and friends. The book features 110 full-color images of places throughout the Buckeye State: Cedar Point, Ohio Stadium, The Toledo Zoo, and Aquarium as well as beautiful natural settings in the Ohio River Valley, Amish Country, and the Mohican Valley.
Blake’s work as a travel photographer led her to documentary filmmaking. The documentary “Tripped Up,” which premiered at the Cleveland International Film Festival in 2018, is the story of an Ohio man who created a team travel competition.
The Zoom event, which will start at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, can be registered for on http://www.doverlibrary.org/register/.
