Claymont repeats as Academic Challenge champions

BERLIN, Ohio - Claymont's Academic Challenge team won their second straight championship on Saturday at Hiland High School.

Claymont was victorious over runner-up Hiland, third-place Indian Valley, and fourth-place Tuscarawas Valley.

Coached by Brian Schilling, the team's members include seniors Peyton Smith, David Birney, and Brennem Duff; juniors: Emma Lesiecki, Reagan Myers, Catlynn Baker, and Ashleigh Tarbert; sophomore Emily Luyster; and freshman Gemma Dotts.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Inter-Valley Conference scrapped the normal season and held a two-week round-robin tournament.
