Uhrichsville, Ohio -  The Twin Cities of Dennison and Uhrichsville will be celebrating the arrival of autumn with a day of crafts, contests, and activities.

The 7th-annual Twin City Fall Festival will be held this Saturday, October 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. along East Third Street in Downtown Uhrichsville with more than 60 crafters and vendors in attendance.

Activities planned for the day include a Chili Cook-Off, Pie Bake-Off, Jam and Jelly Contest, and Kids Cookie Contest, with cash prizes and trophies awarded to the winners of each competition.

Entries for all four contests can be dropped off at the former Graphic Shack location at 231 E. 3rd St. Judging begins at 12:30 for the Jam and Jelly Contest, 1 p.m. for the Kids Cookie Contest and Pie Bake-Off and 1:30 for the Chili Cookoff.

Free face-painting will be offered throughout the day, and attending children will also receive a free pumpkin to decorate and take home.

The event will also feature a Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show with registration is from 9 a.m. to noon. The first 50 entries will receive dash plaques, and the first 100 entries will receive goodie bags. Awards will be presented beginning at 2 p.m. for the top auto, top truck and top motorcycle and to Kids Choice and Mayor’s Choice choice winners.  The cost to register is $10 per entry.

Kathy Allen is the founder and lead organizer of the Twin City Fall Festival. She says she originally created the event to provide residents with something fun to do.

“I just put it together to bring the community together. Everyone’s always complaining there’s nothing going on. I thought, ‘Let’s just put up a little festival,’ and it’s gotten bigger and bigger,” she says. “It’s doing really well, and I hope to keep it up.”

Allen says the event has something for everyone and encourages those planning to attend to bring their entire family.

“It’s got the car show for the guys and pumpkins for the kids and the face painting for the kids, and, of course, Mom loves to look at the crafts and the contests,” she says.

In addition to the contests and activities, the event will also feature live musical entertainment, food trucks and plenty of opportunities for visitors to support a worthy local cause.

Trinity Hospital Twin City will be selling reverse raffle tickets during the event to help fund the purchase of a new 3D mammography system.

The Twin City Christian Service Center will have a drop-off for non-perishable foods, personal hygiene products, toiletry items, and cash donations.

The Indian Valley Band Boosters will be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a 2018 Nissan Versa. Proceeds from the car raffle will be used to purchase new uniforms for the Indian Valley High School Marching Band.

The Uhrichsville Eagles will be hosting an Oktoberfest Hog Roast fundraiser for Community Hospice at its headquarters on North Main Street. The event goes on until 11 p.m. and includes prize raffles, a 50/50 drawing and live music.

The Uhrichsville Clay Museum will present its annual Clayworkers Festival in conjunction with the Twin City Fall Festival. Throughout the day, the museum will be serving up free pizza courtesy of Superior Clay and offering vouchers good for free tours at a later date. There will also be a basket raffle to support the museum's ongoing efforts to preserve the area's clay-making history and the renovation of its future home on North Main Street.
