NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) - Personal and Family Counseling Services is bringing people together this weekend to show how they support survivors of domestic violence and intimate partner abuse.

Assistant Director Jamie Smith says they will be gathering from 1 to 4 pm at Tuscora Park Sunday for the Harbor House Domestic Violence Shelter Walk To End The Silence event.

“They kind of go around the park but it’s more of that feeling of we’re here, we’re standing together, both in our sorrow and our mission to get that awareness out there,” she says. “We would all love to stop the domestic violence. We would all love to stop this from happening to others.”

Smith says Sunday's event will include raffle baskets, face painting, a speaker and then a balloon launch to remember those lost to domestic violence.
