By Mitch Spinell

NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio - The Trumpet in the Land Amphitheater in New Philadelphia will host a jukebox music event Friday, June 11, which will celebrate the works of famed composer Henry Mancini.

'The Music of Mancini - Jukebox Saturday Night' will celebrate the works of Mancini - who died in 1994 - and his works as one of Hollywood's most legendary composers.

The two-hour event will feature melodies from television shows and movies, such as the eponymous theme for The Pink Panther series, as well as Moon River, Charade, Baby Elephant Walk, Too Little Time, and The Sweetheart Tree.

“We are so excited for this opening event of the season” says Trumpet general manager Margaret Bonamico. “This past year has been a difficult year for everyone; especially the arts and we are looking forward to getting back on stage and providing the community with a variety of good, quality theatre and entertainment.”

Tickets for the Music of Mancini are $35 per person and can be purchased by calling the Trumpet in the Land administrative office at (330) 364-5111.  In case of rain, the event will be moved to the Kent State Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center.
