Beach City, Ohio - A 37-year-old Beach City man has been charged with receiving stolen property and additional charges are expected after large amounts of suspected drugs and drug manufacturing chemicals, a stolen trailer and several stolen ATVs were recovered from his property.

Detective Sgt. Phil Valdez of the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office says they found the items Thursday morning when they executed a search at the home of Anthony Raunikar on State Route 212 NW.

“Basically, when we began our investigation, there were several cases inside the county where we were dealing with trafficking in crystal methamphetamine,” he explains. “That led us to this residence as maybe one of the suppliers for the community. We were also tipped off that this house and Anthony Raunikar were taking stolen items in trade for crystal methamphetamine.”

The items recovered included a power washer, two trailers, a four-wheeler and four ATVs, along with suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia, several thousand dollars in cash, guns, and chemicals commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine.

Valdez says multiple agencies from around the area and investigators from the National Insurance Crime Bureau assisted them during the search.

“When we went there, we took the LEAD Drug Task Force with us. We also took Holmes County’s meth clean-up crew with us because we had some information that they might be attempting to cook meth there also. We also had some investigators from the insurance, that side, to look for some property that may have been entered as stolen through the insurance companies,” he says.

Raunikar is being held at the Tuscarawas County Jail for the receiving stolen property charge and for violating the terms of his parole. Valdez says once the lab results come back for the suspected drugs, they’ll send a report to the Tuscarawas County Prosecutor to review for additional felony charges.
