NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) - A chart-topping country music star and a best-selling author will help start a new year of entertainment at the Kent State Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center.

General Manager David Mitchell says the 2020 calendar starts with a performance by Tracy Lawrence on Saturday, January 11th.

“He’s huge. I mean, male vocalist of the rear numerous times, a multi-platinum award-winning country artist. He’s a big deal, so we’re excited to kick off the new year with him,” Mitchell says.

And “Tuesdays with Morrie” author Mitch Albom will be at the PAC January 20th. Mitchell says he’ll talk about his new book “Finding Chika” in an event benefitting Community Hospice.

“It’s a great program Community Hospice has been able to put together bringing Mitch in. He’s got a new book out. If you haven’t read the book or seen press on the book, it’s an amazing, amazing story,” he says.

Other upcoming shows include STOMP on January 14th and “Hyprov: Improv Under Hypnosis” January 18th. More details and ticket information are on the Performing Arts Center website.
