NEW PHILADELPHIA - The Kent State University at Tuscarawas Band is inviting community members to join them for a musical journey around the globe during a free concert at the Performing Arts Center.

The band will present “Around the World in 80 Minutes” there on Tuesday at 7 pm. It's free to attend and open to the public with doors opening at 6:30.

Director James Graves says the band has grown significantly over the last four years.

“Our ensemble now includes over 50 instrumentalists who are Kent State Tuscarawas students, community members and talented high school musicians. I am excited as I watch our members cultivate their passion for music as we rehearse, practice and perform together,” he says.

The band is open to area students and community members. Rehearsals begin January 23rd and are held at the Performing Arts Center Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. For more information or to join, email Graves at jgrave16@kent.edu.

The Performing Arts Center is located at 330 University Drive NE on the Kent State University Tuscarawas campus.
