New Philadelphia, Ohio  - One of Kent State Tuscarawas' freshmen wrestlers has succeeded in capturing All-American honors.

Elijah Nash took fifth place at the National Collegiate Wrestling Association (NCWA) National Championships on March 16th in Dallas, Texas, to become Kent State Tuscarawas’ first All-American NCWA wrestler.

Considered one of the most inexperienced wrestlers for the Golden Eagles in the tournament, Nash led the team with stellar performances, ending his season with a 22-10 record after three grueling days of difficult matches.

Other Golden Eagles wrestlers qualifying for the NCWA championships include Collin Mancuso, Lane Householder and Austin Bailey. As a team, the Golden Eagles finished 17th in a 77-team field.

Nash, Mancuso and Bailey also earned USCAA All-American spots at the National Championships on February 16th in State College, Pennsylvania.
Nash was 3-1 and finished third overall in the 125lb weight class, Mancuso captured fourth place in the 157lb weight class with two pins in his four matches, and Bailey finished fifth in the 149lb weight class with one pin in the finals.
