Authors and hiking enthusiasts Chuck and Beth Hewett will visit the Dover Public Library Thursday evening to discuss their book "Wandering Ohio: A Buckeye Trail Thru-Hike" that documents their more than 1,400-mile, 76-day journey along Ohio's Buckeye Trail. (Dover Public Library)

DOVER - The Dover Public Library is hosting an evening with authors Chuck and Beth Hewett this Thursday starting at 6:30 pm as part of its Nights at the Round Table Author Series. 

The Hewetts are authors of "Wandering Ohio: A Buckeye Trail Thru-Hike" and the 10th and 11th persons to have hiked the more than 1,400-mile Buckeye Trail one continuous effort. The book chronicles their 76-day journey along the trail that passes through over half of Ohio's counties and covers Ohio History, canals, Indian ceremonial grounds, museums, interesting B&Bs, and must-see spots in Ohio.

About the authors

Chuck and Beth Hewett have an extensive resume of long-distance hiking, including a thru-hike on the Appalachian Trail as well as hiking the John Muir Trail, parts of the Pacific Crest Trail, and the 500-mile Colorado Trail, in addition to hikes in other countries. Together, they have logged 8,000 miles. The couple hikes as a way to explore nature and stay fit in retirement. Beth and Chuck use their book Wandering Ohio as an opportunity to share their experiences and promote the Buckeye Trail.
