DOVER, Ohio - Dover City Schools has hired Seth Corder as new superintendent.

Corder, a 2002 graduate of Dover High School, was hired on Monday along with Katie Nicholson, who will become principal at Dover Avenue Elementary.

Corder has eight years of administrative experience at Newcomerstown Exempted Village Schools, including in positions like elementary and high school assistant principal, curriculum director, and federal programs coordinator. Corder, who also spent six years as an educator in Coshocton City Schools, has a bachelor's degree from the University of Mount Union and a master’s degree from Muskingum University.

“Seth is a great fit for this leadership team and district," said Karie McCrate, the district's current assistant superintendent who will become superintendent in August.

"He has many years of relevant, local administrative experience, and is an alumni with deep roots who understands the Dover community and school system.”

Corder and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Dover with their two children.
