Tuscarawas County, Ohio (WJER) - The Tuscarawas County Board of Elections has now certified the results of this month’s vote with no outcome changes.

Board Director Allan Sayre says there were 470 provisional ballots and 113 absentee ballots added to the election night totals, but as expected, the outcomes to the races and issues all remained the same.

“Nothing reached that automatic recount threshold and at this time we don’t have anybody expressing any interest in paying for a recount,” he says.

Sayre says the board still has to do a post-election audit next Thursday, which is required after every general election in even years.

“It’s a random selection of precincts that we go through and verify that the numbers, that the totals, are correct and the same as what we originally had on election night and what we added in on the official canvass,” he explains.

With these additional ballots, voter turnout ended up being 55.94 percent in Tuscarawas County.
