NEW PHILADELPHIA – Area residents still have time to apply for full-time Adult Education courses at Buckeye Career Center.

Full-time adult courses begin August 26th for the 2019-2020 school year, with an orientation planned for August 21st. Applications are being accepted for the following programs: Cosmetology, HVAC & Refrigeration, Heavy Equipment/CDL-A Operator, Medical Assisting, Medical Office & Billing Specialist, Utility Lineworker, and Welding Technology. The programs last nine months, except for Cosmetology, which is a two-year program. Classes run August through May and meet during the day or evening hours, depending on each class. Programs include a 120-150 hour externship in the spring, allowing students to gain experience in a work environment before completing their training.

Students enrolled in full-time programs must have a high school diploma or GED, and certain programs have additional admission requirements. Those who qualify may receive federal financial aid or veteran’s training assistance. Interested individuals should contact BCC's student services department at 1-800-227-1665 or 330-339-2288 to schedule an appointment to speak with an advisor.

An orientation for full-time Adult Education students is planned for Wednesday, August 21st, from 5 to 7 pm in the BCC cafeteria. To RSVP, call the Adult Education office at 330-308-5720.
