New Philadelphia, Ohio - The Tuscarawas County Public Library System's popular Animal Encounter @ your Library series will be returning again this fall with six live animal events that include a variety of animals from birds to spiders to horses.  

"Our Animal Encounters @ your library series has been a favorite among families at all of our locations," said Strasburg Branch Supervisor Emily Crilley. "Our staff does a great job coordinating new acts that will captivate kids."

The popular program series will include:

  • Meet Mustang: September 6 at 6 p.m. at the Tuscarawas Branch (209 S. Main St.)
  • Horsing Around: September 13 at 6 p.m. at the Strasburg Branch (356 5th St. SW)
  • 5th Day Aqua: September 15 at 11 a.m. at the Bolivar Branch (455 W. Water St.)
  • Dr. Insecta's Bug Lab: September 18 at 6 p.m. at the Main Library (121 Fair Ave. NW)
  • Jungle Terry's Traveling Zoo: October 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Main Library
  • Birds of Prey: October 23 at 6 p.m. at the Sugarcreek Branch (120 S. Broadway)

"It's exciting for children to meet and learn about different animals," said Tuscarawas Branch Supervisor Tabitha Johnson. "It's an opportunity to get kids into the library and excited to read about the animals they see at the programs."
