DOVER (Tusco) - Breitenbach Wine Cellars is kicking off the weekend with a big rock’n’roll bash to raise money for a local charity working to educate young people about substance abuse dangers.

Owner Anita Davis says their Rockin’ on the Ridge concert is this Friday starting at 6pm to benefit the foundation she established in memory of her son Zachary who died in 2005 from a drug overdose. She says admission is $5 per person for an entire evening of food, fun, and live musical entertainment at the winery’s Roadhouse Amphitheater.

“There’s probably going to be a dozen different musicians from the area, and they’re gonna be performing at different times. The style of music is classic rock. It’s going to be Stereosphere, Mr. G, and also Atom Lax is going to be playing, too,” she says.

Davis says they will also have a beer and wine tent, food trucks, and a shuttle service to make it a little easier for people to get to and from the show.

"I’ll have golf carts available as a shuttle from the parking to the stage because there is a big hill there, so if people are concerned, and there’s handicapped parking there, too, that’s close to the stage," she says.

Davis says no outside food or beverages will be permitted and attendees will be responsible for bringing their own seating. She says proceeds from the event will be used to support the foundation’s school-based substance abuse prevention education program and provide scholarships for students pursuing degrees in social work or counseling.
