NEW PHILADELPHIA - A local highway patrol dispatcher is being honored for his outstanding service in 2019.

William "Willie" Courtright has been selected as the New Philadelphia Post's Dispatcher of Year and the Cambridge District's Telecommunications Award recipient. Dispatcher Supervisor Jennifer Moran says Courtright was chosen by troopers, fellow dispatchers selected the 40-year-old West Lafayette native and Ridgewood graduate for the award based on his job knowledge and abilities, enthusiastic work attitude,  and prompt and courteous response to the public's requests for information and assistance.

Courtright joined the Highway Patrol as a traveling dispatcher in 2012 and was permanently assigned to the New Philadelphia Post in 2014. He currently resides in Coshocton with his 11-year-old daughter, Amelia.
