New Philadelphia, Ohio (WJER) - The United Way Of Tuscarawas County is looking for volunteers who want to give back to the valley.

Community Resources Director Susan Reidenbach says their annual Day of Caring is Friday, April 26. Volunteers will be assigned to clean up historic sites and some area nonprofits throughout the county. Reidenbach says this is another effort to promote the mission of the organization.

“What we like to do is give back to the community. The United Way of Tuscarawas County is so fortunate to have giving people to support us throughout the year so we can continue our mission,” she says.

Reidenbach says this is the third consecutive year for the annual event which has grown to include teams from businesses and groups throughout the county.

“We had over 135 volunteers last year from great organizations like Dover Chemical and Rea & Associates, and this year Cooper Standard is going to jump on board and help us," she says. "It is fun just to see those co-workers getting out and getting down and dirty into the dirt and the mulch, and they have a good time."

Reidenbach says those interested in helping can contact the United Way at 330-343-7772.
