UHRICHSVILLE - City officials are preparing to kick off another fun-filled summer as they get ready to open the gates of the Uhrichsville Water Park for its 11th season.

Mayor Rick Dorland says they’ve been making improvements during the off-season to get the park in shape to reopen this Saturday for Memorial Day weekend.

"This year, we replaced the concrete deck on the water slides. It was showing its age so we went ahead and replaced that. We painted the bottom of the pool. We did some repair to the kiddie area, the flooring that’s around the kiddie area," he says.

Dorland says the park has been a great asset to the city even though it’s only open for three months out of the year.

"There’s days on end where the weather is really nice and we get over a thousand people, and it’s really wonderful that we can draw that many people to Uhrichsville," he says. "You take a drive down by and you just look at the license plates and we’re getting people from all over the state and West Virginia and Pennsylvania, so we’re really happy about that."

Water park hours are from 11 am to 6 pm this Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. The park will be closed for the rest of the week with daily hours starting June 1st for remainder of the season. Rates and other information can be found online at uhrichsvillewaterpark.com.
