Uhrichsville, Ohio - The Twin Cities Kids Coalition is assembling holiday care packages for Claymont families, and they’re giving the community some extra time to contribute toward the cause.

Coalition coordinator Wendy Mann says the group is extending the deadline for its first-ever Linus Bag collection. She says they will now be accepting donations through the end of December so they can provide bags to more families.

Mann’s daughter Samantha says the group already has insulated lunch bags that they're planning to fill with essential items and distribute needy students after the holidays.

“We have these Pampered Chef bags and we’re going to fill them with snacks and stuff and then we’re going to put blankets in them and give them to families in need of that kind of stuff because there are a lot who don’t have all of that,” she says.

Mann says the bags will also include an assortment of personal care items provided by the Tuscarawas County Health Department along with a teddy bear from Kay Jewelers.

She says the group already has most of the items needed to complete the bags and mainly need socks, hats and gloves. She says anyone who would like to help can message the group on Facebook call 740-922-6698 or email twincitieskidscoalition@gmail.com.

Mann says the group is hoping for enough donations to fill 42 bags.
