NEW PHILADELPHIA (Tusco TV) -  A community foundation that has doled out more than $4-million in grants since 2001 is getting ready to spread even more funding around for projects that enhance Tuscarawas County.

Tuscarawas County Community Foundation President Scott Robinson says the organization is accepting applications through June 15th for its 2019 grant cycle. Robinson says this is an opportunity for area nonprofits and governmental entities to ask for a share of $70,000 to $80,000 in available funding.

“Most of the grant requests range anywhere from $2,000 to $10,000, so that’s kind of the sweet spot where we certainly look for projects that meet that criteria so that we can help as many organizations as possible each year,” he says.

Robinson says they always try to select projects in all four corners of the county so everyone can benefit from those dollars.

“Certainly they’ve been for a lot of worthwhile projects and we’d like to think the community foundation has made a difference in our community and will continue to make a difference in our community for many years to come,” he says.

Robinson says applications can be found online at www.tuscfoundation.com.

“You can go there and pull off the grant applications, fill it out, and send it back to the address that’s listed there and then send three copies of your grant application with it, and then we should be in good shape,” he says.

Robinson says they will announce the grant recipients and amounts toward the end of August.
