Dover, Ohio - For its third year, the Tuscarawas Arts Partnership (TAP) will host its annual Arty Party to support the vision of promoting a visible, sustainable, local arts culture through advocacy, education, and funding.

The Arty Party gathers the community together to benefit Tuscarawas County arts and culture, and provide an opportunity for artists, art collectors, and arts supporters to celebrate the arts, purchase local art, and support the advancement of the arts.

This year's party will be held on Wednesday, October 17, from 6 to 9 p.m.at Fine Arts Skin and Laser. The office is the practice of Dr. David Hartman and is home to his personal, fine art gallery. His extensive collection features large, carefully-restored oil paintings focused on three main themes: figurative art (of people and animals), realism, and impressionism - done in the styles of old masters of the 1600s through more modern works.

The event will include a silent auction featuring unique pieces from local artists, and guests will also have an opportunity to meet those artists during the evening. Auction artworks include works by Sara Dugger, Dave Demuth, Jennifer Contini and June Contini, Jon McDonald, Nic Rothgery, and many others.

Entertainment for the evening includes music from Tera Nova Trio and Timberlake Dawn. Pointe Dining will provide the heavy hors-d'oeuvres, and desserts with cupcakes provided by SugarFuse, which can be accompanied by French champagne, wine or beer.

“The arts are about bringing the community together and making connections,” explains TAP Board Member David Mitchell. “The Arty Party allows arts patrons the unique opportunity to connect directly with the artists in attendance while helping to grow arts awareness and appreciation in Tuscarawas County."

TAP Executive Director Wilma Levengood says the goal of the annual event is to create a welcoming environment for artists and members of the community to come together to celebrate the arts.

Donations received through the Arty Party will support local projects, programs and education in the arts within Tuscarawas County.

"TAP strives to help support arts-based projects and programs throughout the county, and support individual artists as they begin or thrive in their artistic endeavors," Levengood explains. "TAP in the past has supported mural projects, the Short Film Festival at the Quaker, and an art signing event for Senior high school students looking to pursue their collegiate careers in the arts. We want to continue to support those endeavors in the community, and let the arts thrive in Tuscarawas County."
