DENNISON - Trinity Hospital Twin City is recognizing its team of dedicated volunteers for their fundraising and patient care contributions.

The hospital recently held an appreciation and recognition luncheon to honor the entire Trinity Hospital Twin City United Volunteer Auxiliary. Twelve individual volunteers were awarded pins to commemorate service milestones, and one was lauded as the hospital's volunteer of the year.

The following employees honored for reaching five years: Donna Ross of Dennison, Roger Russell and Sherrill Struchen of New Philadelphia,  and Trish Schlabach of Uhrichsville. Ten-year service pins were awarded to Ruth Ryan of Dennison, Sharon and Tom Frank of Gnadenhutten; and Richard Hodkinson of Uhrichsville, and 20-year pins went Bonnie Ingland of New Philadelphia and Helen Gordon of Tippecanoe. Iris Kerschbaumer received a service award for 40 years of service, and Tana Edwards of New Philadelphia was recognized for 45 years of service. Collectively, these individuals have provided 185 years to volunteer service to the hospital.

Receiving the 2018 Volunteer of the Year award was Dean Fisher of Uhrichsville. Fisher has been a hospital volunteer for two years, faithfully serving at the front desk to assist patients and visitors. Auxiliary President Emillie Blackwood had this to say about Fisher when she presented him with the award:

“He is always kind and friendly. He is a great representative of our hospital, and he goes above and beyond when needed."

Blackwood says they're thankful for all of the volunteers for their contributions.

“Without their dedication and hard work, we would not be able to assist the hospital in funding patient care equipment,” she says.
