Dover, Ohio - Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital will kick off Tuscarawas County's annual Paint Tusc Pink community breast cancer awareness program this Wednesday with a free informational event for area women.

A Ladies Night Out program will be held beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the conference rooms near the cafeteria on the ground floor of Union Hospital.

The event will feature keynote presentations from Cleveland Clinic Akron General breast surgical oncologists Mary K. Murray, M.D., and Michelle L. Bryan, M.D., beginning at 6 p.m.

Dr. Murray is certified by the American Board of Surgeons and also completed the Breast Oncology Fellowship at Akron General. She earned her undergraduate degree from Kent State University, her medical degree from Wright State University and her general surgery training at Akron General. She is dedicated to bringing the highest level of breast care by incorporating her expertise in the newest technologies and advancements available for both the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.

 Dr. Murray also is a fellow with both the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology, as well as being a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the National Consortium of Breast Centers, Association of Women Surgeons, life member of the International Association of Oncologists and an associate professor of surgery at Northeast Ohio Medical University.

Dr. Bryan currently is completing a fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology at Akron General. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester, her medical degree from Wake Forest University, her graduate research degree at the University of Pittsburgh, and completed general surgery training and two years as a Bradshaw Research fellow at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, NC. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Breast Surgeons and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

Numerous educational and informational exhibits will also be available during the free program. Light refreshments will be served, and all attendees will receive a goody bag with numerous health-related items.

Paint Tusc Pink is presented by the Community Health and Wellness caregiver staff at Union Hospital in cooperation with numerous area partners and encourages women to take control of their health and receive regular screening mammograms.
