New Philadelphia, Ohio - Starlight Enterprises is once again partnering with T4C to help make the holiday season a little merrier for people and families in need.

CEO Cassie Elvin says that this year Starlight has two different collections going on for T4C’s Share-A-Christmas program.

“We have our Underwear and Socks Project that’s happening here at 246 East High or 400 East High until December 3rd, and then we’re also collecting canned food and toys until December 7th at both of our sites also,” she says.

Elvin says for the sock and underwear collection the organization is looking specifically for children’s sizes.

“Our underwear and sock drive is for children under 12, so we’re looking for specific sizes and things like that for distribution this year.”

For the canned food drive, Elvin says the only stipulation is that donations cannot be expired.

“We just hope that the cans are not outdated if they can look at that before they contribute to that,” she says.

For the toy drive, Elvin says the organization is collecting new and gently-used toys for kids 12 and under but will accept toys for older children as well.

“Right now, we’re trying to focus on toys for children 12 and under on our end, but I think T4C and Share-A-Christmas would be happy with any contribution that anybody could give,” she says.

Elvin says the individuals in Starlight’s program will be assisting in the effort and learning the importance of giving back to the community.

“Starlight’s interesting in being a part of the community and joining in and helping people in need and it helps our individuals then also to participate and be part of something and actually volunteer in the community,” she says.

Donation hours are weekdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at both locations.
