Voters in 16 local school districts will determine the fate of a multi-district school safety issue during today’s Special Election.

If approved, the levy would provide approximately $226 per student in funding to each district for school security and mental health service. The cost to the owner to the owner of a $100,000 home would be $52 a year.

Districts that would receive funding from the levy include Alliance, Fairless, Jackson, Lake, Louisville, Marlington, Massillon, Minerva, North Canton, Northwest, Osnaburg, Plain, Sandy Valley and Tuslaw in Stark County, Brown Local in Carroll County, and Strasburg-Franklin in Tuscarawas County.

Polls opened this morning at 6:30 and close at 7:30 p.m. Voters can find their polling location, check their registration and view a sample ballot by going to MyOhioVote.com/VoterToolkit.
