DOVER (Tusco TV) - The Dover Rotary Club is seeking teams for a fundraiser that pits area businesses against one another in a series of team-building challenges.

The club is currently gearing up for their third-annual Tuscarawas County Corporate Cup Challenge on July 27th at the local YMCA. Rotarian Scott Heil says they’re taking signups through July 5th for co-ed teams of five to eight members to represent their respective companies through a gauntlet of fun and physical challenges.

"We’re having an obstacle course. Then we’re having what we call an egg toss to see how far people can toss back and forth an egg without it breaking. We’re going to have our basketball shootout as we’ve always had. We had an innertube race before at the YMCA pool. We’re also doing a watermelon eating contest. A new event is going to be what we call a Plinko challenge," he says.

Heil says the event will wrap up with a tug-of-war, and then the team that racked up the most points throughout the day will get the honor of displaying the corporate cup until next year’s competition.

"The first two years, First National Bank of Dennison has won the Corporate Cup, and it’s a cup and it will have each year’s winner on it but it is currently on display at First National Bank of Dennison on the Boulevard," he says.

Heil says the cost to take part in the challenge is a $300 tax-deductible donation that will go toward the club’s charitable initiatives. He says people can learn more or request a registration form by calling 330-447-9702 or emailing tuscvalleycc@gmail.com.
