Canton, Ohio - The Workforce Initiative Association will be holding scholarship application sessions for Stark and Tuscarawas County residents interested in training in CNC machining, welding, Class A CDL license and other short-term training programs. Training can begin as early as January 2019 but must end by June 30, 2019.

Application sessions will be held Wednesday, November 7th, from 10 a.m. to noon at OhioMeansJobs Tuscarawas County at 1260 Monroe Street in New Philadelphia, and Thursday, November 8th, from 2 to 4 p.m. at OhioMeansJobs Stark County at 822-30th Street NW in Canton.

Interested individuals must be considered a dislocated worker, displaced homemaker or meet WIA income guidelines to qualify.  Applicants should be prepared to complete an application and know their family income for the past six months.  Not all applicants will receive a scholarship. Pre-registration is not required.  Applicants should plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to the session to register and are asked not bring children to the session.
