Actors are being sought for roles in Historic Schoenbrunn Village's upcoming production of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow." (Historic Schoenbrunn Village)

NEW PHILADELPHIA - Historic Schoenbrunn Village will be holding auditions for this year’s production of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”.

Auditions will be held this Sunday, August 11th, in the Schoenbrunn gift shop auditorium for the show that runs October 25th and 26th. Children’s auditions begin at 6 pm, and adult auditions start at 7.

Based on Washington Irving's classic tale about the headless horseman, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” is set in upstate New York in the late 18th century.  Major roles include a narrator, schoolmaster Ichabod Crane, wealthy landowner Baltus Van Tassel, his daughter Katrina and neighborhood bully Brom Bones. The cast also includes about eight townspeople, six schoolchildren and Brom’s gang of four, some of whom will have limited speaking roles. This year's script also includes a song sung by the townspeople and conducted by Ichabod. For questions, contact Deidra Lute at 330-663-6610 or email deidral@dennisondepot.org.

Performances will be Friday, October 25th, and Saturday, October 26th, at 7 and 9 pm both nights.  Tickets are on sale now for Historic Schoenbrunn Village members and will be available to the general starting September 1st. Tickets can be purchased online at Eventbrite.com

About Historic Schoenbrunn Village

In German, Schoenbrunn means “Beautiful Spring” and that is exactly what David Zeisberger found when he founded the Village in 1772! The beautifully restored Village revisits a time before the American Revolution and highlights a unique meeting of two cultures. The Moravian Missionaries started Schoenbrunn and lived in peace with the Delaware Native Americans. Today, Schoenbrunn offers 17 reconstructed log buildings returning to a time of America’s beginning.
