New Philadelphia, Ohio (WJER) - The Ohio Department of Transportation wants motorists to be aware of a pair of new road construction projects.

ODOT Spokesperson Lauren Borell says prep work was scheduled to begin Friday on I-77 from the I-77/U.S. 250 interchange to Stonecreek. She says over the next seven months, ODOT will resurface that 8.5-mile stretch of the interstate, maintaining one lane of traffic in both directions at all times. Work is scheduled to be complete by the end of October.

Meanwhile, state Route 93 about 2.5 miles south of Dundee will be closed for five days starting April 15th for a safety improvement and culvert replacement project. Borell says a detour will be posted, using state routes 516 and 39.
