Newcomerstown, Ohio - The village is again helping residents clear their basements, garages and storages areas of unwanted and hard to dispose of items.

Mayor Pat Cadle says Newcomerstown’s annual Community Cleanup will be on May 3rd and 4th at the village Street Department at 201 South College Street. He says people can bring in pretty much anything they want to dispose of with just a few exceptions.

“We don't take tires because Kimble won’t take the tires, and we don’t want any solvents, old paints and old cleaners and things you don’t use anymore, we don’t want those because those things cause problems in the ground once they get in there,” he says. “No car batteries but the other things pretty much anything else goes, and no regular garbage, please.”

Cadle says vehicles should enter from State Street for the drive-thru collection.

“You go up and wait for your turn. You have to wait, and we usually help you unload if we can to keep things moving, and then you go out on South College Street past the fire station,” he says.

The collection runs from 8 am to 4 pm on Friday and from 8 am to 3 pm on Saturday.
