New Philadelphia, Ohio - City residents will have an opportunity to dispose of unwanted documents and records in a secure manner during a community shredding event this weekend.

The city of New Philadelphia is partnering with the document destruction company Go Shred to host a free drive-thru shredding event at Tuscora Park on Saturday morning from 9 to 11 a.m.

Residents are encouraged to bring any records they would like to dispose of in a secure manner. This could include legal documents, old tax records, medical records, financial records and canceled checks. Paper clips, staples and rubber bands do not need to be removed in order for documents to be shredded.

The drive-thru will begin off Tuscora Avenue along Al Maloney Drive, and volunteers will be available to help unload vehicles.

During the event, residents will also have an opportunity to sign up for the city’s recycling program. City employees will be on hand to provide information about the program, answer questions, and register new participants.

Residents with questions about the document-disposal process are invited to call Go Shred at 1-877-747-3340.
