New Philadelphia, Ohio - A agreement between the City of New Philadelphia and Constellation will allow residents and business owners to purchase natural gas for a consistent and competitive rate.

The city recently renewed its agreement with the company, a business unit of energy provider Exelon, following a competitive bidding process under the state’s natural gas governmental aggregation program.

The rate under the new agreement is $3.13/Mcf for a three-year term that begins this November and runs through October 2021.

Residents and small businesses are eligible to participate in the program. Existing members will automatically receive the new pricing, and those not already enrolled in the program have until October 21 to opt in by calling 1-844-809-6835. Potential customers will receive a notification letter in November outlining the program rate and the terms and conditions of the agreement.

Mayor Joel Day says the program provides price certainty at a time of fluctuating energy prices.

Constellation Chief Marketing Officer Bruce Stewart says the company is proud that the city continues to rely on Constellation for competitive energy prices and dedicated customer service.

“In Ohio and states nationwide embracing competition in energy supply, the market considers to deliver exceptional value and is helping customers lower their natural gas and electricity bills,” he says.
