NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) - Tuscarawas County’s Child Support Enforcement Agency is updating their payment methods and giving clients more versatility in the process.

Executive Director Traci Berry says the agency is switching from their e-quick pay debit card to the new smiONE card starting July 1st. Berry says users will have more flexibility with the new card.

“You’ll be able to have a second user so, for instance, a custodial parent could put their child on it and give them a second debit card,” she says.

But Berry says clients need to hold on to their current card for now before they begin using the new one.

“They need to keep their e-quick pay and spend it down all the way to zero because there will not be any balance transfers,” she says. “They want to make sure they’re keeping their e-quick pay card because we’ll be putting child support payments on it through the end of June.”

Berry says clients will still be able to access funds from the old card after July 1st, but she says all new-payments will be loaded onto the smiONE card after July 1st. She asks that people verify their address with the CSEA before the cards are mailed out.
